My Thoughts

Why is when I decide to never turn back from the sex, lies, alcohol, and clubs that it haunts me trying to get me right back?
I know I don't want to be that person I use to be anymore but temptation is pressuring me to get back right back.
Sex.... I don't want to give my body to a person and sin against myself let alone GOD. I'm tired of being hurt.
Lies....I'm afraid to like anyone because I don't want to be hurt anymore.
Alcohol....Drinking my sorrows away only to wake up with the same problems. Shot after shot hoping that it would just erase any plot that I know reality is faced tomorrow. As I slumber into a drunken face sleep, I wake up hours later only to cry because the problems are still arise.

As I hold on to my pillow tight and tear glaze down my face. I close my eyes and pray.

Oh God I just want to crumble in your arms take this pain away. Let me walk with you until my dying days. Ill leave my fears by the side of the road knowing theres nothing to fear being alongside of you. Set your grace and mercy upon me let you be the only trusted key to my heart. I know you'll never leave me nor forsake me, I know you'll be here because you are alpha and omega you are beginning to end. When I cry, I cry with tears of joy of your love you have me and this world. Following you will get me through any struggle, addiction, self sufficient loss, with you I can get through it all.

Let me be what you want me to be and not what this world seeks me to be. Let those things of the world leave me be cause you are all I need in thee

Help the Needy

As I approach the second floor of the Homeless shelter which was once an elementary school as some point, my heart drops as I see children in a room full of single beds all jumble together as neatly as possible. The children appeared to playing with dolls and action hero figures. My mentee Soraya whispered, "Do they all get dressed in the same room?" I nodded, in disbelief as I couldn't imagine getting dressed in the same room. We then walked down the hallway to the laundry room. There were about six washers where tenant could wash there clothes for free. We walked past a closed door where children were laying down in there beds for a nap. My mentee Sarah peeked her head through the door. "Oh, wow....I seen one in there. I quickly corrected her, Sarah, those children are people just like you and I, that could've been you laying in that bed.

I then walked to to the community room where some children were playing as the parents all huddle around the television to watch there favorite shows. We greeted the tenants in the community room. Hello, how are you? Some had looks on your face help me, some had looks on their face like they had already given up, and some were just too glued to what was on TV.

There were lots of questions to ask the director of what we'ved just seen.
Volunteer:How long can a person stay here?
Director: 90 days
Volunteer: What happens after that?
Director: They move on some to permanent housing and others we are not for certain
Volunteer: Do you have extensions for a person that just can't find a place to stay after 90 days?
Director: Yes, there are some exceptions

Imagine, loosing everything you worked to hard for. Imagine coming home one day from work as your children run up to hug you only to tell them the news that today would be your last day, Imagine being lost without in composer of words to find how to tell your family this.

Homeless in American Statistics
Homelessness is caused by many different factors some of these that make up a large portion of homelessness job loss, death in the family of sole provider, divorce, domestic violence, mental illness, depression, and physical disabilities.

Homelessness in America persists in part because many urban areas remain economically depressed, housing costs have risen rapidly in the past decade, and wages for lower skilled workers have remained stable http://www.solutionsforamerica.org/thrivingneigh/homelessness.html

On any given night in America, anywhere from 700,000 to 2 million people are homeless, according to estimates of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty. http://www.policyalmanac.org/social_welfare/homeless.shtml

As Christian we are commanded by God to help others in need. anything of those people you see laying in the streets with no where to go could be you. "Here today gone tomorrow"......won't you heal there sorrow?

Matthew 5:42 says, Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

Deut. 15:7. If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.

Takeaway: Glorify God by helping someone in need. Not just once a year, or on Thanksgiving holiday but whenever the opportunity arises.; lend a helping hand. Don't think twice about it.

Tribute to a Loving Grandmother

Praising Him In the Midst of a Storm…...

My grandma passed away yesterday after several health complications and to name the medical issues I am aware of severe Arthritis and Alzheimer. My grandmother lived in the country of Dublin, Georgia. A quiet town. I visited my grandmother every summer and we always had a nice time.

While sitting in her favorite rocking chair you could hear the melodies of hymns all day. Grandma would constantly praise Jesus. Before her eye sight withered she read her word. Her favorite songs would often remind me about having faith in Gods plan. Melodies of, "One glad morning, when this life is over, I fly away." So full of jubilation and faith. This type of behavior really blew my mind how someone that wasn't able to do for themselves as the years grew older, could be so assured with Christ.

Takeaway:
I often think as Christians we look forward to the happy times on Earth but there are times when we may endure suffering. God wants us seek him through these trials and tribulations. If we truly are followers of Christ we should believe and trust in his plan while praising him daily even through the midst of a storm.

In the midst of your storm, what are you praising Him for?

Lonely

Have you ever felt all alone even when you had so many people surrounding you? In your inner circle? All these people are here but something is still missing.

Dear God,

I am lonely. I know I have you and that should be enough but I do still feel lonely sometimes. I have lots of friends and family to talk to but I still feel by myself........alone. I guess what I really want to say because I know I can be honest with you is that I want to be physically in love with someone you approve of. Theres not a doubt that you don't love me God but a mans touch is so delicate and gentle. I would like someone that pours out there spirit in you Lord God, someone that can guide and encourage me. Someone that compliments me and not entirely completes me. Continue to have your way in my life leading me to follow you as your disciple. I know that I may be lonely now but I will not be lonely forever because you are an awesome God with a plan and purpose. Faith is what will get me through this loneliness

Your Faithful Servant,

IF A MAN WANTS YOU

IF A MAN WANTS YOU

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.

If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.

Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.

Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.

Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.

Slower is better.

Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.

If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve

then heck no, you can't 'be friends.' A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend.

Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.

Don't stay because you think 'it will get better.' You'll be mad at yourself

a year later for staying when things are not better.

The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.

He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant,

Why would he treat you any differently?

Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.

If something bothers you, speak up.

Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.

You cannot change a man's behavior. Change comes from within.

Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has

more education or in a better job. Do not make him into a quasi-god.

He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

Never let a man define who you are.

A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.

All men are NOT dogs.

You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two-way street.

You need time to heal between relationships...there is nothing cute about

baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship

You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists

of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.

Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr.. Right.

Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always know where you are, and your

always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.

Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.

Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

Share this with other ladies..... You'll make someone SMILE, another

RETHINK her choices, and another woman PREPARE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate

them, a day to love them and an entire lifetime to forget them.

BY THE WAY, THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A MAN, SO TAKE A HINT..
